Job Title: Director of Business Intelligence

Department: Digital Transformation and Legacy Applications

Report To: Vice President, Digital Transformation



The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for driving the strategic direction of Southwire’s business intelligence, document management and mobile application roadmaps. This individual will work closely with management to advance Southwire along the BI maturity scale enabling BI to be a strategic tool for the enterprise to improve business performance by leveraging information assets. Develop a business case for the next generation document management system and rationalize the mobile applications

General Description of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute a reporting strategy to enable knowledge-based decision making within the organization.
  • Be a key resource in defining a strategic vision and roadmap to support document management, mobile, and BI.
  • Implement process improvements within BI to assure efficiency and scalability.
  • Champion the adoption of tools and processes with a goal to transform Southwire’s BI consumption model to a dynamic KPI, dashboard, analytics driven model enabling Southwire to achieve operational excellence and business agility.
  • Implement a strong governance program in close collaboration with the business and functional teams.
  • Build and foster relationships with business and technical partners.
  • Advocate BI best practices throughout the organization.
  • Evaluate and coach talent within the organization to prepare for succession.
  • Develop strategic partner alliances and negotiate service contracts.
  • Manage remote support resources and project related staff augmentation resources.


Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent preferred in computer science or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in data management, business intelligence, predictive analytics, support of information systems and information technology.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in business transformation or change management.
  • The ability to develop talent within the organization through coaching and mentoring.
  • Must be a collaborative communicator and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
