Quality Engineer

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance for Engineering and Quality Inspection teams, along with technical and regulatory support to Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Customer Service.
  • Plan, develop, implement and/or oversee quality systems for incoming inspections.
  • Provide measurement techniques, statistical data analysis techniques, new product introductions, production part approval, quality related customer relations, quality related supplier relations and quality cost reductions.
  • Responsible for corrective actions, dealing with non-conforming product and compliance to Federal, State and International regulations and standards.
  • Provide guidance with advance quality planning and engineering to support new product development and launch of products.  Maximize quality standards and schedule compliance while minimizing cost.
  • Work with Product Management team to bring new products to market, create Quality Control Plan and testing protocols for new products, test and approve new products for mass production.
  • Perform returns analysis, work with Customer Service and Product teams to identify opportunities for product improvement and enhancement.
  • Work with the Asian Quality team in execution of Business Specific Quality initiatives.  Coordinate Business plans through Corporate Quality assets
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist Quality Manager in the preparation of regular, quarterly performance reports for Quality Management, Supply Chain and product development.  Design reports that reflect management input and changing organizational needs.
  • Identify and execute Quality manual changes in accordance with findings and Quality management.
  • Work with the Supply Chain group in identification and certification of new suppliers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, technical field or equivalent knowledge/experience may be considered.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Engineering or Quality with emphasis in Supplier Quality Assurance and New Product Development.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with Regulatory standards such as UL, CSA etc., particularly in Contractor Electrical or Consumer Electrical products.
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical skills related to product design, product function and product failure analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of inspection and testing techniques and equipment.
  • Procedural and Technical writing skills.
  • Organizational agility/getting things done through others
  • ASQ certification a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
