Job Description

Job Title: Intern, SAP and EDI

Department: Applications and Support, 8513

Location: Carrollton, GA

Report To: EDI/PI Manager

 

Summary:

The SAP and EDI Intern analyzes simple to moderate business problems to be solved with SAP and similar automated systems. Provides input to more senior members of the technical team to assist in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet and satisfy requirements. Configures system settings in development and test system options; works with other members of the team to plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing; provide testing documentation to meet business requirements. Responsible for the daily support and processing of all EDI transactions.  This includes all trading partner communications, testing coordination, root cause determination, and SAP EDI/IDOC processing requirements.

 

The job responsibilities associated with this position are:

  • Daily analysis of EDI file formats and SAP IDOCs to perform problem solving analysis
  • Resolve business issues by working with various groups within and outside of the company (ie. system users, company management, consultants, and software support staff).
  • Coordinate with IBM Managed Services Support Team as required to make EDI updates.  This includes maps, code lists, and trading partner inquiries. 
  • Monitor, report, and assist IBM Managed Services team with daily operations as needed to resolve EDI related activities.  
  • Adhere to change control and documentation procedures.
  • Miscellaneous job duties as assigned by EDI Manager.

Requirements:

  • Some IT relevant classes completed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is recommended.
