Job Title: Territory Sales Rep - Minneapolis
Department: Tools & Assembled Products
Location: Remote- North Central Region
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager

 

Summary:

 

In support of OPS culture, this individual is responsible for selling the company’s products through direct sales calls, letters, telephone
contacts, and email.This person will receive support by Construction staff and other Southwire resources as needed.

 

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and implements a strategic sales plan to increase sales and profits for Southwire products to established and new customers.
  • Develops a plan to identify and convert competitive product to Southwire and works the plan to closure.
  • Leverages sales programs, promotions and market development funds for the best value of the company and distributors.
  • Initiates category management for benefit of Southwire and the distributor partner.
  • Roles include: GM and ROI analysis, turns analysis, self-administered VMI.
  • Maintains awareness of distributor inventories; works to insure adequate levels.
  • Manages profitability of the account from a distributor’s perspective while maximizing profitability for Southwire as well. Margin analysis and pricing to be evaluated as well.
  • Merchandises counter displays to ensure Southwire products are prominently displayed, organized and shelf space is maximized and optimized. Ensure Re-order tags are present on all displays.
  • Conducts training sessions with agent representatives, distributor representatives and end users to educate them in proper use and effective sales techniques of Southwire tools.
  • Conducts on-the-job demonstrations for all products to prospective end-users.
  • Provides input to Product Managers regarding product upgrades or obsolescence.  Maintains awareness of competitors and product lines.
  • Represents company at trade shows, distributor meetings, etc. Introduces, promotes and gains placement of new products.
  • Maintains regular sales call frequency on major end-users in assigned territory as required to increase sales.
  • Captures all required information into Salesforce.com on a daily basis
  • Maintains Expenses within 21 days of the expense occurring
  • Maintains Playbook with current information

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of sales related experience
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate creative abilities in sales and marketing
  • Minimum travel required 90%
  • Must be willing to relocate to other territories as opportunities
