Job Summary

The Director of Capital Expenditures Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for all capital projects across the organization. This role ensures cost-effective procurement of equipment, machinery, construction/engineering services, and related assets while maintaining quality, compliance, and timely delivery. The Director will partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Project Management teams to optimize supplier relationships and deliver value on multi-million-dollar capital investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for capital projects, including equipment, engineering, construction and installation services. Develop and execute comprehensive competitive bidding processes, including development of bidding packages, negotiations, and supplier selection criteria for large-scale CapEx initiatives.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors. Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and total cost of ownership analysis. Collaborate with Finance to forecast and manage CapEx budgets effectively.
  • Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with corporate policies and strategies, legal requirements, and environmental regulations. Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks for critical capital projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to align sourcing strategies with project timelines and technical specifications. Support project execution by ensuring timely delivery of equipment and services.
  • Contract Management: Lead contract negotiations for major capital purchases and engineering/construction agreements. Manage long-term agreements and framework contracts for recurring CapEx needs.

Contract Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with all contractual terms and conditions for capital expenditure projects. Establish governance processes to monitor supplier performance against agreed deliverables, timelines, and quality standards. Required Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in capital expenditures or industrial projects. Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar CapEx sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent analytical and financial acumen. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Proficiency in ERP systems and sourcing tools.
  • Knowledge: CapEX management processes, industry safety metrics

Preferred Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: Master’s degree Specialized Degree: Supply Chain/Business Administration. Licenses/Certificates: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent Years of Experience: 12-14 Years
