Job Summary

Location: Carrollton, GA or Atlanta Battery office

 

The Director of Finance is the strategic financial leader for the organization, responsible for driving financial
performance, overseeing FP&A activities, managing financial reporting, and supporting manufacturing
operations. This role ensures timely and accurate financial statements, leads the budgeting and forecasting
processes, and partners closely with operations, supply chain, and commercial leadership to provide deep
financial insights that enable informed decision‑making.
The Director of Finance plays a critical role in business partnering, analyzing business trends, modeling
future scenarios, optimizing manufacturing costs, and guiding capital allocation to support the company's
long‑term growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Leads and manages a team of finance professionals, ensuring that the team adheres to company policies,
financial procedures, and business objectives. Coordinates efforts across multiple finance units to ensure
optimal performance and achieve departmental goals.
• Develops and implements the finance department's strategic plans and priorities, aligning them with
broader business objectives. Adjusts departmental strategies as needed to address operational challenges,
resource constraints, and business growth opportunities.
• Designs and oversees financial systems, programs, and processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and
scalability. Develops and monitors key performance metrics to track financial performance and assess the
effectiveness of implemented programs.
• Manages and optimizes the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that financial resources are
allocated efficiently across departments and projects. Works closely with other department heads to align
financial goals with operational needs and resource availability.
• Ensures compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures while maintaining accurate
financial records. Coordinates audits, reviews financial statements, and implements necessary controls to
ensure integrity and transparency in financial reporting.
• Collaborates with senior leadership and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors) to influence business
strategies and ensure financial decisions align with company objectives. Advises on financial risks,
opportunities, and trends, offering insights that drive business growth and profitability.
• Conducts regular financial assessments and reports, providing updates on the company’s financial position,
potential risks, and opportunities. Defines strategies to improve financial performance, reduce costs, and
enhance profitability across the organization.
• Supports the professional development of the finance team, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a
high-performance culture. Reviews performance, sets goals, and ensures that team members receive the
necessary training and support to succeed in their roles.
• Ensures the alignment of financial objectives with organizational goals, and drives the execution of
financial strategies. Leads efforts to streamline processes, enhance financial systems, and create efficiencies
across the finance department.

• Serve as the primary business partner to the General Manager, VP or business unit leader. Develop a strong
rapport with key internal stakeholders in order to influence decision making that is aligned with the financial
strategy and goals of the business. Articulate financial information for easy interpretation of non-finance team
members to ensure alignment on financial position, opportunities, and actions necessary to achieve goals.

• Manages staff performance and development, coaching team members to achieve their full potential in
contributing to the department's goals.

Required Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Specialized Degree: Finance and/or Accounting
Years of Experience: 8-11 Years
Field of Expertise: Finance and Accounting. 

Preferred Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: Master’s degree
Specialized Degree: Business Administration, Finance, and/or Accounting
Licenses/Certificates: CPA, CMA, CGMA
Years of Experience: 12-14 Years
Field of Expertise: Finance, Accounting, and/or Project Accounting is a plus.
