Job Summary

The Electrical Project Engineer will support and drive the planning, execution, handoff, and evaluation phases for assigned capital projects.  As a team member within the Capital Deployment group, this professional will be engaged in multiple capital projects simultaneously across the manufacturing footprint. The Electrical Project Engineer's responsibilities include reviewing all engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, designing, and constructing electrical systems along with their components, collaborating with other engineers, and maintaining relationships with site personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders. The individual is expected to adhere to the allocated budget and build reliable, quality electrical systems.

 

Location: Carrollton, GA 

Hybrid (2-3 days a week On Site)

Key Responsibilities

Project Alignment & Collaboration

  • Support the adherence to safety standards in the workplace and on project sites, ensuring all tasks are performed safely.
  • Actively contribute to project teams, collaborating with project managers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Actively coordinate with plant management groups to complete projects on schedule.

Project Management & Execution

  • Contribute to projects from planning to evaluation, providing technical expertise and timely deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting engineering project takeoffs for budgeting and procurement.
  • Travel to manufacturing plants in support of capital projects and improvement activities

Equipment & Technical Collaboration

  • Capable of design and development of original concepts
  • Contribute to designing systems keeping estimated budgets in mind.
  • Design and redesign machine components to improve reliability.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and technology and utilize this information effectively.

Sustainability & Compliance

  • Support the implementation of sustainable designs and collaborate with teams to track sustainable practices.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to identify electrical problems and contribute to the solution development.
  • Ensure all projects maintain strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.

Communication & Documentation

  • Assist in documenting designs, changes, and project developments, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, e.g. the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:

  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and electrical control systems
  • Experience and proficiency with ladder logic/PLC programming, Siemens and Rockwell preferred 
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems using multimeters
  • Relay protection design
  • Electrical distribution design and equipment installation (high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage)
  • Designing, maintaining, and understanding electrical control schematics for various types of machines
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Proficient with engineering software, including AutoCad Electrical, TIA portal, Studio 5000, SKM
  • Strong knowledge and expertise of engineering methods and concepts
  • Analytical mindset with superior problem-solving abilities
  • Prior experience in the wire and cable manufacturing industry
  • Must be creative and be able to work independently with only general supervision
  • Must be able to travel approximately 25% of the time
