Job Summary

Job Summary/Objective:
Under the direction of the Manager of Engineering, the Electrical Engineer II troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions to machine control systems and makes recommendations to improve efficiency or quality concerns.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions to machine control systems and makes recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, or quality concerns.
  • Experience and proficiency with PLC programming using multiple languages, including Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), Statement List (STL), and Structured Control Language (SCL), with Siemens and Rockwell platforms preferred.
  • Designs and updates PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drive systems for troubleshooting and new project development.
  • Participates in set-up and commissioning of new systems or upgrading of current systems.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC circuitry, electrical concepts, SCADA systems, etc.
  • Working knowledge of field control devices (motors, relays, switches, photo eyes, etc.).
  • Designs, develops, maintains, and modifies instrumentations and control systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT/OT networking. SQL experience preferred.
  • Start to finish electrical control system hardware design experience (control panel and field wiring), including the ability to lead their own project from inception to implementation.
  • Competency in Electrical CAD.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Availability on nights and weekends as needed to support manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in the plant 5 days per week.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree: Electrical Engineering or Similar

Years of experience: 5+

Preferred Education & Experience

Certificates/Licenses: Siemens Certified Programmer, PE
