Job Summary
The Sales Project Manager leads a team of Sales Project Specialists, ensuring the successful execution of complex projects along with all other order types within the Southwire Speed team (Make-to-order, Make-to-stock, and Speed Other type orders). This role emphasizes strong people leadership, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Once projects are handed off from the Southwire Speed sales team, the Project manager and specialists ensure a world-class customer experience providing proactive order updates and resolving any manufacturing, logistics, shipping, quality or other issues that could come up along the way. This role is very entrepreneurial and operates with significant autonomy, engaging directly with high-profile clients to meet customer needs/requests. Ultimately, a customer’s experience with Southwire Speed is determined by the execution of orders managed by the Sales Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Project Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Deploy the strategy around Southwire Speed’s make-to-stock and make-to-order revenue streams (roughly 40% of Speed’s business) at the direction of the Director of Speed Operations
- Develop and maintain excellent cross-functional relationships within the company, achieving buy-in at all levels. Specific rapport with all manufacturing material managers and DC shipping coordinators as well as site leads is imperative for success in this role.
- Engage directly with high-profile clients, setting, negotiating, and finalizing specialized contracts.
- Operate with significant autonomy, interfacing directly with senior executives within the organization and at client companies.
- Deliver a worldclass customer experience positioning the company for future project awards.
- Understand and manage the requirements of large-scale projects.
- Leverage company resources to deploy precise solutions, addressing customer pain points.
- Maintain strong self-awareness and perform effectively under stressful circumstances.
- Garner operational support to meet critical deadlines on project phases.
- Balance internal and external stakeholder requirements, spearheading communication at all levels and holding others accountable to ensure project completion.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field with 8 years of experience in sales, project discipline, or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, including planning and execution.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data andmake strategic decisions.
- Ability to travel as needed up to 25%.
