The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to provide valuable experience to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher. Job Summary/Objective:
The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and

productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with

“real world” applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment

after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of

study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.

Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

Key Responsibilities
· Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and

will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.

· You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational

leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves.

· You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and

offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and

community service /volunteer initiatives.

· You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to

a world-class program community.

Job Summary

The Market Development & Industry Partnerships Intern will support the continued growth and execution of Southwire's Workforce Partnership Program. This role will assist in managing strategic initiatives designed to strengthen workforce partnerships through industry associations, contractor organizations, training centers, educational institutions, and community partners.

The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to support program execution, performance measurement, budget tracking, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. This position offers exposure to business operations, market development, partnership management, workforce initiatives, and customer engagement strategies.


Job Responsibilities

Program Execution & Partnership Management

  • Support the execution and expansion of Southwire's Workforce Partnership Program.
  • Coordinate activities and communications with industry associations, contractors, training centers, educational institutions, and community partners.
  • Maintain project plans, action trackers, timelines, and program documentation.
  • Support workforce partnership events, meetings, and engagement activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve program effectiveness, scalability, and stakeholder engagement.

Metrics, Analytics & Reporting

  • Track key performance indicators related to workforce partnership initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain program dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools.
  • Analyze participation, engagement, and impact metrics to support business decisions.
  • Assist with executive reporting and presentation development.
  • Support implementation of measurement strategies that demonstrate program value and return on investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, Community Relations, Giving Back, Customer Solutions, Sales, and other business functions.
  • Support coordination of product donations, workforce initiatives, educational resources, and partnership activations.
  • Assist in aligning workforce partnership activities with customer engagement opportunities and business objectives.
  • Help facilitate communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.

Budgeting & Business Planning

  • Support annual planning activities and program development efforts.
  • Assist with budget tracking, sponsorship management, forecasting, and investment planning.
  • Maintain records related to program expenditures, grants, sponsorships, and community investments.
  • Support development of business cases and recommendations for future program growth.

Research & Strategic Support

  • Conduct research on workforce trends, industry developments, labor challenges, and partnership opportunities.
  • Benchmark industry partnership programs and identify best practices.
  • Assist in evaluating new partnership opportunities and market development initiatives.
  • Support preparation of strategic plans, presentations, and leadership communications.
