Part-time student opportunities allow undergraduate and graduate students to schedule their work around their classes. These roles are available in both the office, customer service centers, and the production environment. This program will allow students to gain experience working in a business/manufacturing environment while maintaining their full-time academic commitments.
This part-time work can be done throughout the student’s matriculation at college/university with the option for extended work hours during the summer months. Students are eligible for part-time opportunities after the completion of their freshman year and can work until graduation. Students must be within a commutable distance of the Southwire location to participate in the Part-Time Student Program.
Task and Responsibilities:
• Install and configure Southwire-approved software.
• Order, configure, and set up IT equipment for production and warehouse locations.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Coordinate with remote site contacts about their production needs.
• Complete tickets in an IT helpdesk ticketing system
• Carry assigned projects to completion on time.
Requirements:
• Ability to work at least 20 hours per week
• Excellent listening, communication, and written skills
• Energetic and passionate with a willingness to learn
• Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment
• Great customer service
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
