Job Description

The Trade Show Assistant is instrumental in coordinating trade show properties and products under the supervision of the Trade Show Manager. This includes, but is not limited to the following: packing and shipping of booths and sales support materials, scheduling and ordering trade show products and services and the data entry, tracking and processig of trade show related purchase orders. This indvidual will attend some trade shows and occasionally serve as part of a booth team. This position requires cross-functional coordination between sales groups, marketing teams and product management teams. Additionally, this individual will interact with outside resources to deliver marketing assets while meeting required deadlines and remaining within budget constraints.


Key Responsibilities

 

Responsible for assisting in day-to-day activities associated with managing integrated marketing activities for trade show planning.
Develop trade show-specific marketing plans to promote the Southwire brand and assist the different divisions in meeting sales and profitability goals.
Assist in developing and writing communications plans and the planning process using various tools (e.g., excel spreadsheets, marketing updates, face-to-face meetings, teleconferencing, webinars).
Communicate reports for use by internal groups, outside agencies, or suppliers (e.g., exhibit houses, advertising, media, and promotions).
Apply basic marketing concepts and operating strategies (e.g., brand positioning, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, market segmentation, media planning, online customer promotions, ROI, estimating, and creative development process) and assist with online and social media campaigns for trade shows.
Pack and ship products/displays for trade shows.
Maintain a working knowledge of Southwire product lines.
Communicate concepts via oral presentations to groups.
Monitor expenditures to keep within budgeted amounts.

 

Education, Experience and Skills

 

Minimum education: associates degree
Minimum years of experience: 1-3

 

Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates

 

Strongly prefer candidates with experience in Basware, SAP, Salesforce, MS Teams and Zoom.
Proficient presentation, project management, analytical and communication skills required.
Willingness to travel is required – up to 25% domestic travel. Must have flexibility to work an occasional Saturday as trade show obligations mandate.
Understanding of the creative development, design, and production process related to trade shows.
Previous experience with drawing / design software preferred but not required.
Previous budget and vendor management experience preferred but not required.
Consumer marketing and merchandising experience is a plus.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds required.

Reports to: Trade Show Manager

Travel: domestic up to 25%
Workplace setting: hybrid (2-3 days a week on-site)
