Job Summary
The Sales Project Specialist is responsible for overseeing project duties and execution for projects within the Southwire SPEED sales team. The position will leverage cross-functional relationships with Manufacturing, Distribution Center facilities, and corporate logistics teams to deliver world-class customer service on customer projects and orders. This role will work closely with external project stakeholders (i.e. agent, customer, contractor) to ensure clear expectations between all parties through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and streamline services for large-scale, time-sensitive projects, ensuring a seamless flow from start through completion
• Facilitate project deliverables for standard business projects, in the post-sale phase, in effort to improve collaboration between all stakeholders to meet customer expectations, increase value, and drive project results from order award through delivery.
• Establish realistic delivery schedules between the customer and Southwire.
• Implement project-specific reporting to track, communicate, and provide visibility to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead project kick-off meetings with all project stakeholders at the start of each project.
• Oversee execution of customer projects and orders, using discretion to implement best practices and troubleshoot issues independently.
• Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing/logistics and department, making decisions on order prioritization and facilitating timely, transparent communication on order status.
• Develop and implement recovery plans for delayed orders, independently assessing issues and taking decisive action to restore schedule adherence.
• Leverage system-driven solutions to optimize order management, applying critical thinking in a high-growth environment to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Track and provide hedge visibility to manage capacity and aid in reducing unshipped metal exposure.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years related experience in sales, project management or related field required.
- Extensive knowledge of production planning, manufacturing and process improvement preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with priority to deadlines.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills with an aptitude to challenge the status quo and possess a proactive solution-driven approach to problem solving.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organization, presentation, exceptional interpersonal skills including a unique ability to network with a wide variety of groups.
