Title: Senior Lean Specialist    
Location: SCUPP, Carrollton, GA
Department: Lean    
Reports To: Lean Manager 


The Lean Senior Specialist is responsible for leading cross-functional projects designed to analyze and design sequence of operations and work flows to improve efficiencies.  The Lean Senior Specialist will participate on multiple projects and apply continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to solve problems (DMAIC) and build new capabilities.  This position is a change agent who challenges organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements; remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

•    Participate on multiple projects, and occasionally lead, applying continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to solve problems (DMAIC) and build new capabilities.
•    Assist the Lean Leader and/or conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
•    Facilitate and Co-facilitate Kaizen events as appropriate to expand skills into d driving continuous improvements in operations and office areas including effective preparation and follow-up.
•    Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
•    Interface with other departments to identify improvement opportunities to drive high quality and efficient processes.
•    Mobilize problem solving teams and supporting groups to streamline processes.
•    Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvements in operations and office areas including effective preparation and follow-up.
•    Participate on multiple projects and apply continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to solve problems (DMAIC) and build new capabilities.
•    Share best practices with other site Lean Senior Specialist and develop coordinated plans.

Long Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
•    BS/BA Degree highly preferred or equivalent experience.
•    2-3 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma efforts and enabling efficiency, effectiveness, and tangible financial benefit.
•    Green Belt certification required; Lean or Six Sigma (Southwire Lean certification for internal candidates)
•    Hands on demonstrated experience with continuous improvement programs including employment of Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
•    Demonstrated experience with ensuring effective Change Management development and execution.
•    Facilitated or participated in at least four to two six separate week-long Kaizen events while performing proper preparation and follow up and able to plan lead and conduct at least one lean tool independently.
•    Comfortable with ambiguity and able to interpret and determine a way forward.
•    Share best practices with other site Continuous Improvement Lean Senior Specialists and develop coordinated plans.
•    The ideal candidate will have the ability and willingness to achieve Black Belt Certification / Lean or Six Sigma within 12 - 18 months and transition into an operations / technical / reliability / lean leadership position within 36 - 48 months.
•    The ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time.
