Job Summary

The Specialist, Inventory Control's responsibilities include leading inventory levels to meet service expectations while reducing excess and obsolete, leading inventory accuracy through improving cycle count processes, and optimizing distribution footprints while driving business process improvements to meet profit, inventory, and service goals for Southwire. The Specialist, Inventory Control will also determine stocking strategies which consider lead times, costs, volume, and demand variations defining appropriate time periods in which the planning parameters will be reviewed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain optimum inventory levels with direct linkage into the SIOP process reviewing inventory levels and planning parameters in response to major demand changes.

Forecast gross inventory and Days Sellable Inventory (DSI)

Ensure a robust cycle count program is in place for manufacturing and distribution to meet Southwire’s requirements, driving corrective actions to root causes.

Support and help lead physical inventories at EPES sites.

Lead all distribution center and agent inventory strategies, replenishments, and cycle counting process.

Analyze and interpret SAP data to troubleshoot disruptions to material flow, align data in MRP and IBP with appropriate inventory Range of Coverage, address critical shortages, and drive actions around exception reporting related to inventory.

Lead E&O analyses and management  with cross-functional teams to drive root cause and corrective actions with demonstrated reduction of E&O and accounting reserves.

Lead and support analyses and planning strategies per part with key classifications around volume, predictability, lead times, and footprint size of parts (ABC / XYZ).

Perform Ad-Hoc Analysis as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree: 2-4 Years of Experience
