Job Summary
The Corporate Sustainability team provides value to the organization by helping Southwire be a leader in sustainability. This position will support the team and broader organization in implementing and managing sustainability programs, company directives, and other tasks. We are looking for a self-starter and a quick learner who is passionate about sustainability, eager to share creative ideas, and capable of successfully completing projects in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Help implement strategies and action plans to drive corporate sustainable development
- Support development of life-cycle assessments and environmental production declarations
- Promote and increase awareness of sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders through multiple communication channels, including the annual sustainability report
- Support materiality assessments to identify critical topics for management and disclosure
- Support extended producer responsibility and product environmental compliance requirements
- Devise tools and systems to monitor performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Research and identify alternatives, best practices, and solutions to sustainability challenges
- Perform cost-benefit analyses of potential sustainability alternatives
- Evaluate and communicate sustainability performance data and reporting information to internal and external stakeholders
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Specialized Degree: Sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business
Years of Experience: 2- 4 Years
Field(s) of Expertise:
- Environmental Sustainability or Environmental Science
- Understanding of sustainability issues, best practices, and trends
- Working experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment
