Job Summary

The Corporate Sustainability team provides value to the organization by helping Southwire be a leader in sustainability. This position will support the team and broader organization in implementing and managing sustainability programs, company directives, and other tasks.  We are looking for a self-starter and a quick learner who is passionate about sustainability, eager to share creative ideas, and capable of successfully completing projects in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help implement strategies and action plans to drive corporate sustainable development
  • Support development of life-cycle assessments and environmental production declarations
  • Promote and increase awareness of sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders through multiple communication channels, including the annual sustainability report
  • Support materiality assessments to identify critical topics for management and disclosure
  • Support extended producer responsibility and product environmental compliance requirements
  • Devise tools and systems to monitor performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Research and identify alternatives, best practices, and solutions to sustainability challenges
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses of potential sustainability alternatives
  • Evaluate and communicate sustainability performance data and reporting information to internal and external stakeholders

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree

Specialized Degree: Sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business

Years of Experience: 2- 4 Years

Field(s) of Expertise: 

  • Environmental Sustainability or Environmental Science
  • Understanding of sustainability issues, best practices, and trends
  • Working experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment

Years of Experience: 5-7 Years
