Job Summary
The Reliability Engineer is a key advocate for the implementation and continuous improvement of reliability best practices across the organization. This role collaborates with cross-functional plant teams to identify and execute opportunities that enhance equipment reliability through procedural improvements, equipment upgrades, and the adoption of emerging technologies. Responsibilities include analyzing equipment history, conducting root cause analyses of critical failures and supporting the design and deployment of new equipment with a focus on reliability and maintainability. The Reliability Engineer also contributes to autonomous maintenance initiatives and promotes a progressive maintenance strategy—from reactive to preventive, predictive and ultimately preventive-by-design. Participation in audits and performance assessments ensures alignment with the organization's long-term reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the facility’s root cause analysis (RCA) efforts, identifying and implementing solutions to prevent equipment failures or reduce their impact and collaborates with reliability engineers at other sites to share findings and best practices.
- Monitors equipment MTTR and MTBF performance to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Examines defects and issues identified during PM and PdM activity and utilizes this information for PM optimization.
- Participates in new and modified equipment design and installations.
- Assists in spare part reviews to ensure adequate stocking levels as determined by consumption due to normal wear and failure frequency and identifies risks of obsolescence and proposes mitigation strategies.
- Introduces tools and techniques in performing preventive and predictive maintenance activity and prescribes frequency of activity through CMMS maintenance plans and provides training and support of precision maintenance processes such as alignment and balancing.
- Develops a world class lubrication program and monitors performance and execution.
- Supports autonomous activities and provides skills training to operations team members.
- Drives proactivity performance through supervision of planners and participation in scheduling activities with planners and coordinators.
- Ensures CMMS users have been trained in system utilization, and audits activity to sustain system integrity and serves as a SAP PM subject matter expert for the plant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Manages staff performance and development, coaching team members to achieve their full potential in contributing to the department's goals.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing
Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelors in Engineering
Licenses/Certificates: Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent certification
7 years in industrial maintenance or manufacturing
