Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00

 

Job Description

The Warehouse Specialist supports Supply Chain by assisting with inventory, shipping, and receiving operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, timely logistics, and a well-organized warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced with SAP or similar systems, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Organize and maintain the warehouse layout, ensuring efficient storage and accessibility of inventory, products, and packing materials.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Process transactions in SAP, including:
    • Shipping and receiving
    • Inventory transfers and expense tracking
    • Weekly cycle counts and adjustments
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including real-time updates of stock levels and product movement.
  • Prepare products for shipment, including labeling, packing, and staging for outbound logistics.
  • Pick, stage, and load materials, tools, and equipment to ensure lineman crews are fully prepared and minimize field downtime.
  • Pick up, deliver, or receive supplies, inspect for damage and accuracy, and validate against purchase orders or packing slips
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, adhering to Southwire safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with Operations and team members to support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year experience operating a forklift required
  • Current and valid Driver's license required
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Must have basic computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry, SAP desirable
  • Knowledge of inventory management and shipping and receiving processes.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Meeting physical requirements, such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Possess extreme attention to detail, organization and accuracy
