Travel Requirements: In this position, you must be able to travel throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico as may be required from time to time.
Job Summary
The Retail National Sales Manager is responsible for leading revenue growth, category expansion, and strategic account development across Canada’s largest retail customers. This role owns the national retail strategy, builds high-impact relationships with senior merchant teams, drives ecommerce and Pro channels to maximize distribution, visibility, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national sales strategies for key retailers across instore, ecommerce and Pro channels.
- Lead annual and quarterly business reviews, promotional planning, assortment negotiations, line reviews, new product introductions, pricing strategy, and merchandising initiatives.
- Own revenue, margin, and forecast performance for assigned retail accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with senior merchant teams, category managers, replenishment teams, Pro team and ecommerce channel.
- Analyze POS, shipments and market data to uncover trends and opportunities.
- Provide data-driven recommendations around assortment, pricing, promotional effectiveness, and supply chain performance.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, demand planning, and finance to ensure seamless execution.
- Partner with product management to influence innovation pipelines.
- Lead negotiation of vendor agreements, cost changes, and promotional funding.
- Drive ecommerce growth strategies including content optimization and digital merchandising.
Required Education & Experience
Minimum Education Level: Business Education Background
Specialized Degree: Business Administration
Years of Experience: 8-12 Years in retail sales
Field of Expertise: Experience with major Canadian retailers required
