Job Summary
The Associate, Channel Management – Electrical Products (EP) acts as a cross functional business liaison that focusses on driving channel growth, management of product launches, and supports of strategic line reviews across the business’s distribution channels.
This role serves as a key contact between Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The position assists with daily and weekly sales reporting, commercialization execution for new product introductions (NPI), builds promotional and training strategies, and helps steer line review execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Reporting and Analysis
- Daily and Weekly Reporting: Assist in the preparation of daily booking and billing reports and bimonthly channel and customer reports.
- Monthly Business Reviews: Assist in the preparation of consolidated channel and customer performance lookbacks, tracking current and upcoming promotions and conversion performance.
Sales Communication and Alignment
- Sales Representation: Represent business on all relevant product and channel sales calls and meetings.
- Voice of Sales: Share sales requirements with internal stakeholders and communicate product-specific actions to Product Management.
- Mindshare Driver: Promote business focus areas and new product introductions to sales leaders.
Launch Commercialization and Monitoring
- Best-in-Class Launches: Partner with Marketing and Product Management to define and execute top-tier product launches.
- Process Ownership: Lead cross-functional planning, execution, and post-launch support, defining distribution lists, launch kit contents, and shipping processes with third part vendors.
- Engagement & Road Shows: Drive trade show placement and serve as the point of contact for customer-facing sales engagement and road shows.
Playbooks and Content Development
- Content Strategy: Assist in the development of business content quarterly, consulting Product Management for missing inputs.
- Sales Playbook Participation: Actively participate in the Sales Playbook process alongside the Channel Marketing Team and update existing content as needed.
Promotions and Inventory Management
- Promotional Planning: Develop and secure approval for category and on-demand promotional plans with Product Management Team.
- Supply Chain Alignment: Share promotional plans with Supply Chain for SIOP and demand planning and review promotional effectiveness with Marketing Operations.
- E&O Management: Drive Excess and Obsolete (E&O) sales processes and promotions in coordination with Supply Chain and Product Directors.
Training and Education
- SSU and Agent Connection: Collaborate with Southwire Solutions University and satellite distributor/agent locations to ensure proper business representation.
- Training Execution: Assist with the planning and execution of targeted training events.
- eLearning Deployment: Drive the creation and launch of internal eLearning modules.
Line Review Strategic Leadership
- Schedule Management: Engage with Sales to confirm and share current and upcoming line review schedules, keeping teams on track for deliverables.
- Strategy and Pricing: Own line review strategy via presentation development, sampling, and profitability analysis in partnership with Sales Leaders. Confirm pricing approvals with Product Management and Finance leadership.
ED Project Pipeline Management and Conversion Tracker
- Conversion and Growth: Identify share loss areas, manage target account lists, and improve funnel refresh rates while driving early NPI conversations.
- Contractor Solutions: Align with End User Teams on sales blitz activities and gather end-user and distributor feedback for Product Management.
