Job Summary
Oversees logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation and distribution of goods. Develops and implements strategies to optimize logistics processes and improve efficiency. Manages logistics teams and coordinates with vendors to resolve issues and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Advises team members and stakeholders on logistics strategies to optimize inventory control, shipping, and receiving functions within the electrical industry.
- Develops operational plans to enhance the efficiency of logistics activities, aligning with broader business objectives.
- Coordinates processes and assignments to ensure timely movement of materials, products, and information within the supply chain.
- Defines project terms and requirements for logistics initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with company policies and customer expectations.
- Directs workflow and operational logistics to meet shipping and distribution deadlines, addressing any bottlenecks or disruptions proactively.
- Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Evaluates performance of logistics staff and processes, implementing improvements as necessary to optimize operations and achieve department goals.
- Implements logistics technology solutions to streamline processes, enhance tracking, and improve reporting across the supply chain.
- Manages day-to-day logistics operations, including overseeing the activities of the logistics team, managing budgets, and ensuring resource allocation aligns with business priorities.
