Job Title: Territory Manager

Department: TOOLS

Location: Remote- North California, Nevada 

Reports To: Manager, Regional Sales


The Territory Manager Role is responsible for marketing hand tools, meters, equipment, assembled products, accessories, & Sumner Products by using a wide range of communication methods including direct sales calls, telephone contacts, e-mail, etc. This individual will also be responsible for executing accelerated growth by being able to manage and execute large complex conversions for the West Coast Territory


Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for hitting financial metrics within the Wholesale Channel 

• Responsible for executing KPI’s set forth by the leadership team

• Develop a territory plan which includes key new distributor targets, existing distributor partners sales plans, and marketing strategies to drive sell through 

• Create and Maintain key distributor relationships

• Develop and execute strategic plans with both distributors and agent partners

• Drive large complex conversions to accelerate growth within the Wholesale Channel and increase market share

• Expand distributor footprint to ensure appropriate coverage for the given market

• Develop promotional activity within the territory to drive incremental sales

• Leverage distributor marketing capabilities to continue to drive the Southwire brand within the territory

• Leverage Southwire Programs to drive stocking position of all products within distribution

• Hold quarterly meetings with key distributor partners to review progress and create gap plans where needed

• Manage agency network to ensure plans are aligned and proper account coverage is achieved

• Hold quarterly agent review meetings to review territory progress and ensure the plan and strategies are being executed

• Manage key shows and events within the territory

• Provide training to distributor partners to ensure product knowledge is attained by all necessary parties 

• Work with customer service to handle customer needs


Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, management, finance, or related field.

• Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong Microsoft Skills with Power Point, Word, & Excel

• The ability and flexibility to quickly get up to

• Must have exceptional organizational skills

• Must demonstrate creative abilities in sales and marketing

• Minimum of 50% travel required

• Must be willing to relocate to other territories as opportunities arise
