Southwire Job Description

This is an exciting time to join Southwire as a Product Specialist who assists with all aspects of product management, from driving new business, development of new products, sourcing, marketing and sales. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the tactical execution to grow sales and gross margin for the Cabling Solutions business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Growth of Cabling Solutions Business
  • Support New Product Development
  • Support VC Model Updates and Enhancements
  • Gather Market and Channel Insights
  • Expand Bandwidth and Expertise of Cabling Solutions
  • Increase Cross-Functional Alignment on Cabling Solutions Strategy
  • Lead Safety Kaizens

Qualifications and Experience Requirements


•    3+ years of professional experience in Sales, Product Marketing/Management, Engineering, and/or Channel Marketing/Management
•    Bachelor’s Degree in either Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or like fields
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong business-to-business analytical skills and attention to detail
•    Ability to work cross functionally to launch new products and programs
•    Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word) required, Microsoft Project & SAP a plus 
•    Experience with building strong business relationships
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and/or tasks while meeting deadlines
•    Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for the purpose of visiting end users, distributors, suppliers and in support of commercial activities i.e., internal meetings, line reviews and industry trade shows

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience leading new products through a stage gate process and presenting updates to leadership
  • previous P&L management experience 
  • Industry experience in retail and wholesale distribution channels specifically Electrical is highly desired. Experience driving .com & MRO business a plus
