Role Summary
This is an exciting time to join Southwire as a Product Specialist who supports all aspects of a product family, from driving new business development, manufacturing, marketing, product management and sales. This individual will be responsible for the overall tactical execution to expand sales and gross margin targets for the Circuit Protection product family.
Description of Roles and Responsibilities
Supports Product Manager to develop product line vision, Go-To market strategy, technology roadmaps and business plans
Promotes technology to grow business with core and new customers
Drives profitability through forecasting, cost out initiatives and 80/20 product life cycle management
Nurtures customer intimacy with retailers, manufacturer’s reps, Southwire sales force, and eCommerce teams by supporting needs which include metrics, documentation, information and Voice of Customer
Supports Retail Sales Channel by assisting with Product Line Reviews
Processes quotations and provides continuous follow up throughout the completion of the customer's purchasing cycle. Build alignment across multiple functions within the organization
Achieves and maintains technical capabilities at required levels to support customers. This includes taking phone calls and other correspondence to aid in the resolution of problems
Processes Non-Conformance Requests for technical and warranty related issues
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Technical Sales, Engineering and/or Marketing
Experience with Retail Sales Channel and Product Line Reviews preferred
Willingness to travel up to 15%
Basic Electrical Knowledge including understanding of basic electrical terms and systems preferred
Must be able to work using MS-Office tools, ERP/MRP and other database software
Capable of prioritizing workload, attain needed resources and execute a plan that optimizes results
