Location: Villa Rica West Georgia Distribution Center

 

This role will transition to our new Mega Distribution Center in Waco, GA (est. opening Q4 '26). Until then, the position will be based in Villa Rica, GA.

Job Summary

Manages the daily operations of the shipping department to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of products to customers and distribution centers. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address logistics challenges, freight capacity, and carrier performance within established policies and procedures. Provides technical guidance to team members in scheduling shipments, maintaining documentation, and optimizing shipping methods to meet service and compliance standards. Ensures quality and accuracy in order fulfillment, packaging, and transportation while maintaining compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations. Coordinates processes and assignments with production, procurement, and warehousing teams to ensure alignment of shipping schedules with manufacturing output and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advises senior management and other departments on shipping strategies, operational improvements, and best practices to streamline logistics and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Attends leadership meetings to provide updates on shipping operations, identify bottlenecks, and discuss potential improvements in systems and processes.
  • Coordinates processes and assignments within the shipping department, ensuring that products are shipped on time, meet quality standards, and comply with safety regulations.
  • Defines project terms for shipping logistics projects, including timelines, budget allocations, and resource requirements, ensuring effective and efficient execution.
  • Devises solutions to shipping challenges, working closely with logistics teams to resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, and misrouted shipments.
  • Directs work flow within the shipping team, ensuring that orders are processed and shipped according to priority, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Educates team members on the best practices for shipping and logistics, emphasizing the importance of compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction in every aspect of the department’s operations.
  • Ensures compliance with shipping regulations, company policies, and industry standards, maintaining accurate shipping records and conducting audits as needed.
  • Evaluates performance of shipping staff, conducting performance reviews and offering coaching, training, and guidance to foster professional growth and ensure the department's continued success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Manages staff performance and development, coaching team members to achieve their full potential in contributing to the department's goals.

Required Education & Experience

  • Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Years of Experience: 5-7 years

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Licenses/Certificates: OSHA Safety Certification
  • Years of Experience: 8-11 Years
