Job Summary

 The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and safety.  The role is involved in the entire lifecycle of a process, from design and development to implementation and continuous improvement.  This individual will design new manufacturing processes, including selecting equipment, automation, optimizing workflow and ensuring efficient space utilization. They document and train operators on how to run the new processes, and monitor key KPIs to track process performance, identify areas for improvements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new manufacturing processes, including designing jigs, fixtures, and needed assembly and testing equipment.
  • Analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, implement changes to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and improve overall Efficiency.
  • Research, price and select new equipment as well as specifying requirements for new or modified equipment.
  • Monitor KPIs to track process performance, conduct a Pareto analysis to identify and focus resources on the causes that have the highest impact.
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters, optimize production, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Design and plan equipment placement, workflow, and space requirements, to optimize productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including operating procedures, technical specification, and safety guidelines.
  • Manage the implementation of new processes, providing training and support to ensure smooth integration and consistent quality.
  • Ensure that processes comply with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of processes and process performance.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • A strong understanding of process controls measurement, monitoring, analysis and improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address production challenges quickly. 
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate and manage a production team. 
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and adherence to customer specifications. 
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling tools. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with various departments and customers.
