Job Summary
The Planner is responsible for scheduling various work centers to meet customer requirements derived from the master production schedule. This person will also be accountable for managing the inventory levels of work in process items both purchased and manufactured.
Key Responsibilities
Usage of SAP & MES (ADVARIS or Shop Floor) to determine products and quantities to manufacture on the most efficient production equipment.
Able to analyze actual loading vs. capacity and identify bottleneck as well as under-load situations.
Responsible for maintaining customer service levels acceptable by scheduling production in an efficient manner.
Procurement of raw materials utilizing SAP and ProcureIt to support the master production schedule.
Support the policies and procedures of Logistic Group.
Must understand manufacturing work flows in all areas of the plants.
Responsible for reviewing WIP levels to keep obsolete inventory at a minimum.
Coordinate production schedules and accommodate priority requirements.
Must support the production departments and work closely with the supervisors in the plant.
Coordinate the workflow for manufacturing operations from quoting items until the material has been completed and entered into finished goods ready to ship.
Must support monthly inventory.
Physical daily counts of specific RAWs and rod.
Daily reports for production and RAW materials.
Place orders RAW materials needed to facilitate production based on our demand or scheduled orders.
Work with the supervisors and leaders to create the next 48 hour line schedule.
Load, adjust, or line up orders in Advaris based on the schedule provided.
Clear any IDOCs.
Respond to speed, sales, or product management based on customer requests and lead time.
10am Tear 2 meeting with leads and supervisors to discuss any issues and distribute the schedule.
Following the rest of the day with difference daily planner tasks like management requests, inventory management, machine capacity reporting, cost savings, logistics support, and flow.
Required Education & Experience
Minimum education and experience requirments:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
3 years related experience or equivalent combination of above level of education and experience.
Strong analytical skills.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel and other software products and have a very good aptitude for information systems.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
