Job Description
Job Summary/Objective:
The Manufacturing Technician works closely with Manufacturing Engineers and other team members to support various production activities aimed at enhancing efficiency and productivity at the site. This role will primarily focus on supporting continuous improvement projects, performing light maintenance and repairs, and assisting in the development of lean manufacturing infrastructure. The individual will also play a crucial role in setting up manufacturing lines, installing, and fabricating assembly fixtures, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare machinery by positioning parts, loading materials, and entering specifications into computers. Ensure that all equipment is ready for production.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers in implementing layout changes and process improvements to optimize production efficiency.
• Move production line equipment and furniture as required to accommodate layout changes and workflow enhancements.
• Build and maintain assembly fixtures, jigs, and other production infrastructure using hand and power tools, welding and other fabrication equipment.
• Assemble production tables, workstations, and other furniture to support manufacturing operations.
• Conduct regular cleaning and routine maintenance and minor repairs on manufacturing equipment and tools to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability. Troubleshoot machinery issues when problems arise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities to drive operational excellence.
• Occasionally, assist as backup operators in the production lines as needs arise.
